# Can I set the number the monitor is identified as on my VT200?

Windows automatically assigns a numerical identifier to each monitor connected through the **VisionTek VT200**. These numbers are used to identify which monitor is **Display 1, Display 2**, and so on.

The assigned number does not affect how your monitors are arranged. You can arrange the displays in **Windows Display Settings** to match their physical position.

**Important**

- Windows automatically assigns the numerical identifier to each monitor.
- The assigned number cannot be manually changed through Windows Display Settings.
- The number is used only to help identify each connected display.
- You can arrange your monitors independently of their assigned numbers.
- Select **Identify** in Windows Display Settings to see which number is assigned to each monitor.
